This recent video is making the rounds right now. Sadly, even thought the end card says 'Netflix Now Streaming' it does not appear to be on US Netflix at the moment. I haven't watched it since it came out. I've read a lot about trans allegory in the film, but it's been ages since I saw it.

I love that such an iconic movie is comes out of trans experience. Have you seen it? Are you old enough to remember what a big impact it had on film-making?

My mind is BLOWN. The Matrix makes SO much more sense as an allegory about being trans. Holy...

Also, yes, I am old enough to remember the Matrix; I was already in my 20s when it came out.

The form of estrogen most trans women take is literally a red pill. The blue pill is thought to be Prozac, which some people go in if they can't transition but need to function.

I really need to re-watch it soon!
