I found Work In Progress on a list of shows with trans characters while I was trying to look up something else. It's about a butch dyke who winds up dating a trans man, according to reviews. Lilly Wachowski wrote part of it and also was an executive producer.

Per the Wikipedia article:

Inspired by her participation in Netflix's Disclosure, Executive Producer Lilly Wachowski made an emphatic push for trans representation throughout the cast and crew including the soundtrack. Transgender musicians in the show's soundtrack include Backxwash, Quay Dash, Sateen, SuperKnova, and Mel Stone.

I tried watching it, but it's another cringe comedy. Also it's a cringe comedy dealing with death and suicidal ideation. It was very well reviewed, but it's just not my type of show. I made it ten minutes in, and that's it for me.

This show was a great example of deceptive marketing. I saw a great interview with the lead, I saw it promoted as a queer comedy show. And then, wham, death and suicide, out of nowhere. I lasted one episode, and now when the show comes up, I make a point to mention the warnings. Plus it wastes time in the pilot with a wish fulfillment fantasy of getting an SNL actor to apologize which, I understand the impulse, but it was gratuitous. It's a shame because I really wanted to like this show. But the show I wanted wasn't the show they made (it was, however, the show they marketed)

I really liked this one, well the 4 or so episodes I watched before my attention span ran out.

Oof, that sucks. The show goes right into the death and suicide stuff as well. I hate it when shows have misleading advertising, but that is particularly bad. I went in prepared, but was put off by how they mixed all that with comedy. I think you can mix those themes with comedy, but wasn't into how they did it.

Apparently the whole SNL thing is an ongoing plotline.

to be fair, if I could make a show and get Kristin Wiig on it just to make her apologize for all of her sketches that were just making fun of people with disabilities, I probably would.
