I heard about this film that won prizes at Cannes because it's being banned in Pakistan. Its a 2022 Pakistani Punjabi-language drama film about a love affair between a man and a transwoman. The love interest is played by transwoman Alina Khan. It was scheduled to release in Pakistan on November 18th. Guardian Article.

I Was a Teenage Exocolonist is a video game that is one part RPG, one part card collector, and one part raising sim. You play a character growing up in a new colony on a strange alien planet where time doesn't always work as expected. Your character collects memories and learns skills to overcome the challenges of life on their new planet and explore its mysteries, and maybe falls in love along the way.

The game's setting has highly advanced biotechnology that allows for easy gender transitions. One of the other children growing up with you is MTF and went through treatment at an early age; this is treated matter-of-factly and occasionally comes up in events related to her. A side character is implied to have also done this, and multiple other characters, including one potential friend and love interest, go by they/them pronouns. The main character's gender is given a lot of flexibility: you can change their pronouns (default he/she/they options, but there is extensive customization available as well) and adult appearance (more masculine/more feminine/androgynous) at any point, as much as you wish, and simply by opening a menu. When your character begins going through puberty, you can also select which version they go through, including a third option.

I would personally recommend the game all around - it has a beautiful art style, a fun setting, and generally high-quality writing, and it nails that addictive 'just one more month...' core loop of raising sims like Princess Maker. If you're not into the card-battling aspect, there's also an option to turn it off.

It's available on Steam and Itch.io, as well as the Switch and the PS4 & PS5.

Boku Ga Watashi Ni Naru Tame Ni (In Order for Me To Be Me) is a one-volume autobiographical essay manga by a trans woman author.

The manga is primarily about her experience with having SRS in Thailand, but she also discusses her initial experience with psychologists and coming out and with legally changing her gender afterward. She has a funny and very honest storytelling style (at one point she uses a tofu and sausage metaphor to explain how her surgery works, which cracked me up), and her art is cute. I also found it interesting to read about how the (mostly legal) procedures of transition work in Japan.

Unfortunately, it's not yet licensed in English, but if you can't read it in Japanese, there's a full fan translation available. If you are able to read German, it has been officially translated and released as Yunas Reise zum Ich.
