While there is no textual trans content that I am aware of, this canon was created by trans people with intentional trans metaphors going on. The original film had a massive cultural impact and it's effects on the visual styles of films is still felt today. I need to re-watch the original films and also find some good video essays on them. I feel like I'm not in the loop enough to give good context for this film, but it falls solidly under the 'trans creator' category at least!

Same here, re: needing to rewatch! If you find any particularly good video essays, I hope you'll share. I've read some great analyses of the trans metaphors in the first film, but would love to see more on it. I haven't watched the movies in probably a decade+.

I know I watched some video essays around them the Wachowskis came out, but that was ages ago. Curio has a veyr long video essay on 2&3, but I haven't watched it get because their media crit videos are very hit or miss. Sometimes they are interesting, and sometimes it's not even 101 level stuff. It's kind of odd.
