Yesterday, HBomberGuy dropped a 4 hour video essay on plagiarism and one part was on queer creators who were stolen from.

His editor made a playlist of queer creators who make good, original content. You can find it here.

Who are some trans creators you enjoy or would like to recc? Last night I watched I Have A Gender And I Must Scream by Ricki Hirsch, which is about body horror from a trans perspective. A youtuber not on that list who I really enjoy is Caelan Conrad who does general video essays on culture and the anti-trans movements.

Two creators I've enjoyed who are linked there are [youtube.com profile] KatBlaque and [youtube.com profile] verilybitchie.

Dropout is a big ensemble channel but has a few trans creators. A cute moment involving the non-binary Ally.

I've watched an enjoyed a few videos by [youtube.com profile] LauraKBuzz, who also talks about accessibility.

I think [youtube.com profile] Vihart doesn't identify as trans but she posted a video about her agender-adjacent gender feelings, and otherwise posts very entertaining videos about maths, music, and other things.

[youtube.com profile] moju_music is an amazing Indigenous Australian musician

[youtube.com profile] CriticalProf is a pair of lit professors, one of whom is non-binary, who have had some interesting discussions of works inspired by the 18th and 19th century.

I have enjoyed Mia Mulder who is on the list for her dives into history, and for whatever reason I love her humor.

More rarely I catch PhilosophyTube for the philosophy topics, but less so her explicitly trans topics (though her coming out pair of videos are sacred).

Most of the trans content creators I've liked are about their personal journeys and understanding than directly addressing broader society / the culture war, and they've become inactive now: Bria (TokuSister), Jackie Rabbit, and Riley J. Dennis.

I got into Hazel through her Elfen Lied video, and ever since she's been my go-to essayist for when I need something to pick me up. Her soothing voice, sense of humor, and thoughtful perspectives as she goes on deep dives on anime, video games, film and any other lesser-known subject matter are always a joy to watch and listen to, even when it touches on heavier subject matter, and shows there's a beauty to any form of art that inspires me to create. She also makes music.

Amelie Doree is another video essayist who centers her work on niche subject matter, specifically on Japanese visual novels, which have reputation that often goes misunderstood in English-speaking circles. I probably would have passed on a title like Kanon if not for her moving video on how it deals with grief. I have yet to go through her entire catalogue, but she discusses on a number of games with trans and queer themes as well.

[youtube.com profile] KyounosukeOfficial is a trans male Japanese vocalist (he sometimes also describes himself as a genderless man) as who posts both covers and original songs that I enjoy listening to. He has a second channel as well at [youtube.com profile] KyounosukeSUBchannel where he's posted some Q&A videos about being trans in Japan and his experience as a vocalist - the videos have English subtitles.
