transmediaclubJuno and Umbrella Academy star Elliot Page came out as trans this morning! His pronouns are he/they and here is the Instagram post with his announcement.
Time for another Umbrella Academy rewatch :) Netflix is gearing up to film season 3 in early 2021 and it will be interesting to see how they handle everything. An image of a script was teased recently.
On the show he plays Vanya. Vanya is more typically a male name in Russia. That has been a source of speculation and theory crafting by fans since the original comics came out in 2008. I think it's unlikely the show runners knew he was trans, so this is more of a fun fact than anything else. Also, there is a pretty solid theory behind the name Vanya being chosen for the character, but I wont post here as it's a spoiler.
