Calliope is a poetic series about a transwoman with superpowers. Cal grew up as Calvin, male-bodied and trying to be masculine, then gained gendershifting and other abilities. This complicates life, but on the whole is working out well. Some of the installments are about Calliope's gender journey, others about superheroics or personal relationships. (Lead character, words used.) Published poems are listed on the series page in narrative chronological order.
The transman Hyperspaceman also appears in several installments as Calliope's friend and sometimes coworker. First appearance is in "Through the Loop." (Side character, on page.)
A complication is the supervillain Vagary, who ends up mystically connected with Calliope. Their interaction is a garbage fire for a long time, but does eventually get better. The one thing Vagary gets right from the beginning is his complete respect for Calliope's gender identity, although it takes her a while to notice and appreciate that. Vagary is not himself transgender, but has trans friends, and his orientation is vague and confusing to him.
